It feels the most obvious to choose and include this audio version of one of my book chapters – ‘I Miss You’.
The passing of my beloved dog Smithy cracked my heart open and the words for my book spilled out….as words but also as this piece of art.
When he had passed and Christmas came around I’d sign cards to friends that loved him too with my name, Alfie and Smithy’s paw print (as usual) but the first Christmas without him I sketched a paw with wings and a halo creating the outline for this piece….
This chapter followed…..
I was going to record it again without the wobble in my voice toward the end…but its real and I said to myself why would I erase the sound of love and loss, all humans experience it so don’t hide it. Here it is and thanks for listening….
